Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway accidentally crowning La La Land Best Picture at the Oscars was a fitting end to an unpredictable year in Hollywood. What wasn’t a surprise was the celebrities brought their A game to every single event – so many stars shown brightly this year. It was difficult but we have narrowed it down to our fifteen favorite red carpet looks that were truly exceptional.
We are obsessed with the silver and white sequined Monique Lhuillier gown that Drew Barrymore wore to the Golden Globes. Adorned with stunning Harry Winston jewels and a Jimmy Choo bag, she completed her ensemble with loose waves for an effortless look.
What’s the best word to describe Faith Hill’s Grammy look? Perfection. She nailed it from head to toe! From her red lips, to her cherry-hued gown by Zuhair Murad to her matching red heels, she looked red hot! And to top it off, Hill had the best beachy waves.
Emma Stone was the epitome of Hollywood glamour last night at the Oscars. To continue with the 40’s theme, her strawberry tresses were paired nicely with her gold Givenchy gown.
Carrie Underwood looked dynamite in her embroidered, ruby-red gown by Elie Madi. Her makeup was flawless – a light, smoky eye with a nude lip – which didn’t overpower her wardrobe. And to complete her red carpet look, she chose a casual up-do. We are obsessed with her hair! We absolutely love the messy bun with the loose tendrils that fall near her face.
To show off her gorgeous floral embroidery and backless Marchesa dress, Chrissy Teigen pulled her hair back in a smooth, high ponytail for this year’s Golden Globes. This up-do accentuated the details of her dress and makeup. Her burgundy lips matched the floral buds that decorated her gown. We love how her hair do is very attainable!
Charlize Theron turned up the funk with a side-parted ponytail. The sides were tight and sleek but the top had a voluminous curl that showed off her gorgeous face and her gown by Dior Haute Couture.
Kerry Washington definitely dressed to impress at the Golden Globes this year. Washington wore an embellished black-and- gold gown by Dolce & Gabbana and like Teigen; she kept it simple when it came to her mane. Her straight down do complimented her dress nicely.
Can J-Lo get any sexier? We think not. She kept it simple with her understated makeup that matched her lilac chiffon gown by Ralph & Russo. We love that she went with a super straight and sleek blowout with the sweet, flirty dress.
Priyanka Chopra looked white-hot in a Ralph & Russo white-and- silver panel dress at the Oscars. We love that she kept her hair simple – silky and straight – so it would not distract from her daring, form-fitting gown. A+, Priyanka!
We loved that Adele took a break from her red lips and opted for a nude tint. But she didn’t stray too far! She still had the perfect winged eyeliner to complete her signature look. We love the cat eye liner because depending on the thickness and or length, you can look classy and dramatic all at once!
Laverne Cox surely knows how to make a statement on the red carpet! Her dramatic eye makeup was the perfect amount of edge and paired nicely with her Bryan Hearns dress. We cannot stop thinking about the jewels on her lids – we’re in love with the bedazzlement!
Janelle Monae’s makeup went beautifully with her ornate Oscar dress by Elie Saab Haute Couture. She had the perfect smoky eye but decided on nude lips for the perfect balance. To top off her stunning look, we absolutely loved her gold hair accessory!
No Makeup Makeup
Kristen Wiig’s makeup was simply flawless at the Golden Globes. Although we are not fans of the half-sheer skirt trend, we love her minimalist makeup and pixie cut when paired with the thick lace Reem Acra gown. Her dewy skin and light pink lip is so easy to achieve for an everyday look!
Solange Knowles’ gold pleated one-shoulder gown by Gucci made a bold statement. And we love that she went with very minimalistic makeup. She looked stunning! The no makeup makeup is very popular right now and she nailed the look! Achieve this look with a sheer foundation, natural shadow, a cream blush and a lip color that warms your skin tone!
We have to admit, we weren’t the biggest fans of Dakota Johnson’s dress choice. However, we do love the barely-there makeup for her Oscar look. The natural, rosy tones really emphasized her porcelain skin. We are quite envious of her flawless face!
